Comments by Earthlife Africa Johannesburg on the climate change impact assessment and palaeontological impact assessment resports for the proposed Thabametsi coal-fired power station

On 31 July 2017, the Centre for Environmental Rights (CER), on behalf of Earthlife Africa Johannesburg (ELA), submitted its comments on the climate change impact assessment and palaeontological impact assessment reports for the proposed Thabametsi coal-fired power station in Limpopo Province.

ELA’s comments and annexures:

  1. ELA comments on the draft climate change impact assessment report attaching a copy ELA’s comments on the water use licence application
  2. Correspondence between CER and Nemai Consulting
  3. A copy of a letter of refusal from the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism to Aquila Steel (S Africa) (Pty) Ltd (Aquila), informing Aquila that its application for anenvironmental authorisation has been refused on the basis of issues relating to climate change
